Flower Power!
I went Flower Crazy when Denise sent me a Dollar Scrapbooking site! I bought like 20 packages of flowers! I had to because their shipping costs is beyond ridiculous!
This is the first time since I started scrapping, that I have actually had FLOWERS on hands!!! woohoo! More Welcoming cards~!
Oh and Melissa in Nashville, found a deal on Basic Grey packs, for 10.00 Each!50% off regular price! OH man, she bought me (I will pay her of course) the Two Scoops AND Cupcake!! I am so excited!
I have something to look forward to when I get to Nashville. 3 weeks and counting...the countdown is on.

Cards and the Pink Gowgirl
I sure do love the new Crate Paper lines,
These are some of the cards I make for the new members of JS.
I think it adds a nice personal touch.
Plus its just part of being me.
I love making cards and never have enough people to send them too anyways LOL
The first one is supposed to be published in JUNE!
But I have to send it in so I am making a duplicate.
I think card making has become a first love for me, I love scrapping but the cards,
I love them cards! Yea for scrapping and crafts!
*on a side note*
Well folks, looks like I will be trading in my 7 inch brim pink sun hat
for a pink cowgirl hat!
We are finally making it to Tennessee, our goal for 3 years now.
5 years in the process! It looks like Nashville, TN is the winner!
We leave in 3 weeks, I am more than thrilled I am finally going to be in a real home and have a real country life for the boys I cannot think of anything better.

Scrappin' Hard
I was challenged to scrap something hard.
Well what little I remember from my childhood is a sordid mess of molestation and fear.
And I only have maybe 4 or 5 pictures of my childhood and it is only because I stole them, then scanned them , then printed them myself.
I have to say now that I have moved 3300 miles away from those people it is easier for me to deal with and scrap, although never will be easy.
So this is the LO I did.
The lace is Paper lace I used as a stamp, I stamped it in negative then used the positive in the opposite direction.
Sorry if this is scary scrapping to some. I scrap from my heart.
The journaling in the red says.....
"They say Time Heals all wounds, I don't know if that is true.
Sometimes you just have to pull yourself up, and make sure your kids don't suffer the same way. And you have to stand STRONG and LOUD!"
Also all around the LO I used the lyrics to Evanescence music, the song Immmortal.
I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone
These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase
You used to captivate me
By your resonating life
Now I'm bound by the life you've left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me
It just seemed fitting to me. I loved doing the LO it was hard but I was proud of it.

Scraplifting
I had a challenge to scraplift a page. So I whipped up this one. She did not tear squares for the matting but instead tore the middle out of the page. So I did the same but for some reason it does not show well. But I did get to use my stamps which made me happy. I am not used to all this tearing it is so foreign to me! But I do love Stamping! I found a CTMH Yard sale and bought 3 sets of Stamps! And the LOVE stamp was a Foam Stamp set I found on CLEARANCE at Target for 2.00! I was thrilled and now that I have used them I am ecstatic! I bought 2 and gave one away, now I wish I had kept it!
On a side note I picked up Andrew last night he flew back from Nashville we find out more Monday. Looks like life is really picking up. Change is so wonderful and exciting. Its always good to get rid of the toxic and start fresh and new! This has been a VERY productive and happy few weeks that have literally changed my life! Our term in Virginia is closing, and half my book is done now, I was accepted into Basic Grey, and another exciting surprise on May 1st! Now moving to TN will be the end of the puzzle for us.
It's a good Sunday.

Sense Of Humor
I love making cards for people with a wicked/great sense of humor like me!
A dear friend's fiance' was walking and was hit by a motorcycle. It was crazy scary and he is pretty banged up. I wanted them to know I was here and supportive but I also wanted the card to be funny and light so this is what i came up with.
Yes, I know its kind of crude but I mean who gets hit by a motorcycle anyways?? LOL Its TERRIBLE and rare!!! and can we say OUCH??!
Anyways I love making fun humor cards!

What a Day!
Well I finished my FIRST Recipe Swap! At first I had no clue what to do but I am happy with my simple yet fun Recipe cards! I free hand cut the birds and used Pop dots to make them stand out. I love the paper lace I found! I am going to be doing a tutorial on making that soon! I think they were really simple but just cutesy and fun to do too! I love doing things like that. No stress just some fun!
And something amazing happened today!! I have one surprise I can't share yet! But I will in the beginning of MAY! And another thing happened!
Basic Grey accepted My Owl Card into their design Gallery!!
I am so proud and pleased and excited about this! I am amazed and honored at the same time! I worked so hard on that card I am thrilled! I did not realize I might be accepted and did not take much time with my details LOL Now I wish I had!
Ya for a good scrappy day! I feel like I am on top of the world!
I feel completely validated and so proud of my creativity!

Gosh, we were having one of those tired days last week where Gage refused to eat anything I set out unless it was PB Sandwich or Chocolate MILK! Andrew wasn't helping any so I sat him down to just TRY One BITE that is all!!! Usually he just does it but for some reason this noodle was going to kill him or attack his face!!!
He is so adorable when he is dying of one noodle and mom being so mean!
Just one bite baby!

April? Really?
I took a break from Scrapbooking and crafts today to enjoy my family and the 85 degree weather outside! We drove to Sandbridge Beach in Virginia Beach, Virginia. WOW it was clear and beautiful! Not to mention sunny and warm.
And the bonus of the day? We were driving home and spotted a BRAND NEW ACMOORE! just opened yesterday! All clean and pretty, so of course I stopped and found some Basic Grey papers and a flourish Queen and Co Felt I have been looking for! Woohoo!
It was a great family day! Can't believe its only April!

Nervous
I always get nervous doing a black page for someone else. I don't want to embellish too much and I don't know their style. But I made this page from Daisy D' Paper and Basic Grey (My favorite lately!) and I hand cut the bird! I may do more birds I love them soooooo! We will see if she likes it or not. I like it, I wish I had her pictures for it!! LOL

I dare YOU!
I love risky Dare Challenges so on my Forum I challenged myself and the gals to scrap a DARE.
SCRAP that Picture you MISSED or the one you wish you gotten. Maybe you didn't have your camera or your batteries were dead. Who knows?
So I did this Layout about missing the last picture with my grandmother before she suddenly passed away from a heart attack.
Don't worry it was years ago! But I love the LO I think it turned out very beautiful, if I do say so myself LOL
Crate paper I LOVE it! And the journaling tag is Daisy D's....and Cherrie sent me the awesome scalloped paper and the other paper! Oh man I was so happy! She made my week!
Oh and here is a fun little blog that is Fairy related. She does some cute work!

Fabric and scrapping
I must admit I am fascinated by using fabric in scrapbooking since my first craft love is sewing. So this week I finally found an opportunity to use Fabric on a Layout!
I hand cut out butterflies from my fabric and stitched them with contrasting
thread then applied them
Now I wish I had done the felt flowers in Black instead of white, but besides that I am happy with the fabric affect and the Layout in general!
I think I may try it again! It was easy and super cheap! I mean you can pick up remnants of fabric for next to nothing! Great embellishments and hand crafted to boot!

Cheap me! Garbage letters!
So I just do NOT have the moolah some scrappers have to spend every week! I have 3 boys who take my moolah and flush it down the toilet for me! LOL
But I did manage to buy a Sizzix and I love it! I also managed to buy ONE alphabet set on clearance!
SO.....I was reading one day about how to make your own GHOST letters, you know like those rockin's Heidi Swapp letters that cost 3 arms and a foot?!
Guess what?? It works! Now you do have to use some strong packaging.
But I took old plastic packing....from a scrapbooking kit no less! The kind that you want to blow up because you can't open it unless you have a pair of garden sheers and a welding torch??!
Once you open your package without breaking your fingers or precious Heidi Grace Fiskars Scissors!! You find the nice clear smooth pieces and slide them right through the sizzix!
Now it won't work on Sizzlets of course. Or those thin Cuttlebug letters. But it works on the regular dies! And what can I say? I am THRILLED!!!
Hey its FREE and it would have been garbage!
Give it a go!! Anyone want to trade fonts with me?? BWHahahaha!!!

Basic Grey Yummy Goodness
I do love my Basic Grey Goodness, recently I bought not only their fibers but their ribbon as well and it was worth every penny! I like to get my paper on sale but I didn't mind paying for the ribbon and fibers. Of course we have NONE here so I had to go online. But I am the online shopping queen! LOL
This purse card I made is for my BF Tasha, its her birthday next Saturday and she shares a LOVE of purses with me! I wish I had a Coach Logo but I think this is pretty fun anyways!

More than a scrapper
Of course I do more than scrapping, but this week I have been particularly busy sewing.
Spring/summer are my highest sales time. This dress I made for my Friend Cherrie for her b-Day. I love making dresses for people who appreciate them! So it was cool and fun to make one for her.
I almost kept another one of these I made for myself! I LOVE Madras fabric! Its so soft and pretty. I wish they had a black and blue print! So I could snatch some for myself! i think the hot pink and my hair would make me a walking Pink BOMB! LOL
Ok just thought I would share one of my dresses for a change today! Back to scrappy goodness tomorrow.

Desk Top Caddy Tutorial
You will need 1 12X12 piece of heavy duty cardstock.
And one or two more Patterned papers for decorated sides.
Score heavy duty Cardstock 4" in on each side....ending up with 9 squares
And one or two more Patterned papers for decorated sides.
Score heavy duty Cardstock 4" in on each side....ending up with 9 squares
Attach on each square as decoration. If using another cardstock I highly suggest Stitching, as shown below or using brads or eyelets. And a VERY strong adhesive.
Now score all 4 corners either all the way across diagonally
OR just on the four corner squares.
OR just on the four corner squares.
Now punch a hole about 1/2" in on each corner.

Crate Paper Desktop Caddy
I finally sat down and made this desktop Caddy lastnight.
I think that it would make a really cool gift with candies in it!
Its holds ALOT! Maybe even cookies or something would be good!
It was easier than expected once I changed the directions a bit! LOL
Its pretty sturdy too!
Here it is full of stuff so you can see how much it really holds.

Swiss Dots ROCK!
I have been trying to get my hand on the Cuttlebug folder ~ Swiss Dots~ for about a MONTH now! I was thrilled to find it online WITH the other folder that has eluded me...Paisley!
So I hand cut all these flowers and ran them through the Swiss Dot Folder....for a more 3-D affect and I have to say I LOVE IT! So I just went with the whole polka dot theme!
Not my usual style but it was a pretty fun LO to do anyways.
I love hand making my embellishments rather than buying them.
Now that is a "Good Thing" *thanks Martha* Hahahaha

Spring is in the Air!
I have to admit we did not have much of a winter at all!
These were even taken on Easter weekend BUT it is so beautiful!
I am happy Spring has arrived here in Virginia!
I love Daffodils and I learned something new this week.
In Oregon we always called them Daffodils or BUTTERCUPS! But here in the south they call them Jonquils??!! So I googled and it said that is more of a southern/eastern term.
Who knew? I had no clue all these years they had another name!
YAY for Spring!

Support is so important
I made this card for a stranger. My friend Taun, her mother is in the hospital with cancer but we are all human, so JS got together and made cards for her. This one is mine. Simple, but classic as well. I used Doodlebug ink to stamp the word Support. The paper is Daisy D's I love Daisy D's paper! Too cute! I am proud of all the Ladies for getting in there and making cards! It was a real bonding experience! Hopefully she feels our support and God's love all the way across the US!
