Handmade Gift Ideas

It's definitely that time of year, everyone gets busy and shops.
I love giving handmade gifts but finding the right handmade gift that will
be appreciated is not always easy.

Sometimes it is nice to go simple and sweet. This gift was for my friends
little boy, I thought as he learned his letters and names that he would
enjoy a book that has his family names with photos.
I made sure to use very strong adhesive and double checked every corner.
You know Clear Scraps albums are not flimsy in any way so I knew with care
it would stand up to a 2 yr olds shenanigans.
For this book I used the Clear Scraps Cassy Mixable Album.
Sturdy and easy to flip the pages.
I used big bold letters and DCVW papers.
I also used the Clear Scraps Mascils, with Gold Krylon spray paint.
I love these mascils.
I included the family dog of course.
Hopefully it's a keepsake he can use years from now.
Stay tuned this week for a sewing tutorial. Or maybe it's a what not to do tutorial?? LOL
Anyways happy Monday and Merry Christmas friends.

Mini Gift Bag Tutorial!

Good morning friends, Happy Monday!

I had so many compliments on these little gift
bags I created I decided to share how I made them.
They are the perfect size for any pair of earrings
and really if I had 25 of them I would totally make an
Advent Calendar with them!
Anyways here is my how to-

  • Trim out embossed images (now you can trim them out with your die cut machine first if you like).
  • Repeat with sentiment stamps.

  •  Using   Xyron 3" Sticker Maker run sentiments and Gingerbread through.
  • Rub firmly to ensure full application of adhesive!

  • Place Gingerbread onto Maya Road Bags.
  • Repeat on other side using sentiment.

  •  Add bows or embellishments as desired!

Easy and GORGEOUS! They took me around 30 minutes! :)
Here is what I used:

~A Special Valentine's Day Project!

Good morning all you lovely, beautiful crafters!
How is your week going?

I FINALLY finished my big project yesterday, I had a heck
of a time with it too. I was wanting to dismantle a frame and
write or etch on the glass, but I don't have a cricut or anything
to etch or make big letters, so I came up with this!
When I have a couple minutes I will be sharing a tutorial on how
to make this very look on glass!
It was SO easy I don't know why I did not think of it earlier!
The heart is a simple foam heart from Michael's Craft store
with glass pebbles in the middle of each Lace Flower (from my earlier tutorial)
and plenty of tulle. Oh and of course a big old dose of Helmar glue!
I used the 450 Quick Dry for the lace flowers
and the Professional Acid Free Glue for the outside of the pebbles and the glitter.
The glitter I used is the AWESOME glitter from ClearSnaps!
Hello...if you have not tried ClearSnaps products, they are rocking my world lately!
Between the SMOOCH SPRITZ and the FINE GLITTER
I am in glitzy heaven!
That awesome scroll with the vine?? That is also Clearsnaps...
its called a DESIGN ADHESIVE!
OH lorday...makes this pink one swoon!, You can add flocking, glitter
whatever you want!
OK I promise to get the glass tutorial to you tomorrow or Sunday.
I am off to the school to volunteer today so no more time for chit chat!
Remember this is the LAST day to enter to win the
Purple Cows Mouse Cutting System RAK, so head back and check in :)

~Going Green For Christmas~

We all want to recycle, upcycle, and re-use...
When Purple Cows asked me to come up with quick
holidays ideas, I went back to when I first begin scrapbooking
I love covering old CD's, remember when all the internet
companies sent out millions? They don't as much anymore but
I still have tons of old CD's to recycle.
They make GREAT gift card holders to hang on the tree.If you want the step by step on these, check out
the Project Sheets on the Purple Cows blog!
You can easily make these for yourself!
I am using mine for the teachers this year,
sticking gift cards in for photo developing or anything
else the class might need.
~Thank you for stopping by today!~
~Happy HOLIDAYS to you and yours~
I wish I could bake you all goodies and mail them out
Today I begin the platters I make for all the neighbors,
fudge, sugar cookies, snicker doodles, chocolate chip cookies,
rice crispy treats, and possibly home made bread too!
Oh and the ever present Banana bread as well...
I love Christmas and the baking!

~Have a great Friday~
~Love to all~
