~Scrappin' Saturday~

I was able to sit down and scrap for a bit yesterday,
I have an upcoming crop and wanted to try something totally
new for me, which happens to be
#1 8.5X11 (I never do)
#2 Lots of White Space and one tiny photo!
WOW it was so hard for me.
I kept wanting to add and put it on a 12X12 sheet LOL
I was totally inspired by Staci Compher, I love her style
and pages but am never brave enough to try them
I did not copy her but she did inspire me to make the page
way out of my comfort zone! LOL

Last night we decided to join the madmen and go school shopping,
since it is a tax free weekend and TN has a 9.75% TAX!
(Which BTW is insane after coming from Oregon with NO sales tax)
OMG I will never venture out on tax free weekend again! LOL
I think today we will stay home or hit the library and park.
But it is exciting to see the boys all excited about their new school
gear and shoes...they are just so happy today!

~Have a great weekend!~
Don't forget about yesterdays RAK (HERE)
& I have one more coming up on Monday.
~Thank you for popping by~

love the layout - Staci just rocks, you did awesome with that for it being out of your style.

I avoid tax free weekend with a vengance here in Texas, it happens to fall about 2-3 weeks AFTER school starts...some mornon picked that I guess, but it's not worth saving the $8.00 to deal with crazy people...haha!

I giggle when I see you going to an 8 1/2 x 11 layout because that is ALL I did for ten years! Now I am venturing into the 12x12 mode since paper kits are made for that size. Great layout and I too would have trouble with a lot of white space, but the main focus is still the picture.

I cannot believe your sales tax is so high. I live in Montana with zero sales tax.

Yes I thought about it forgetting about Tax free weekend and then remembered and was debating if it was worth fighting to get into the buildings LOL FL did this too but it was a whole week in August! However I think TN does 2 weekends one before school and one after.

Love the page too! It's very differnet for you but it turned out great :D

Nice job on going outside your comfort zone - I'm not too comfortable either with these "white space" layouts but do them from time to time. I don't know why I'm so obsessed about using the entire 12x12!!!!

I LIKE the blank space and want to say stop cryin bout the 9.75 tax...we pay 20% on clothing, but 25% on groceries...
Really...If I could shop tax free, I would! That is why I have to go back to the US to do it! Gina
