Affirmation Frame: I Am Beautiful....

There are so many things that are special to my heart, from
crafting to Autism, abuse advocacy, kindness and also empowerment of
others. Including not feeling ashamed of being who you are, plus size, skinny, abused,
Christian, pink haired, tattooed, anything that is true to you.
On my mind this week was a conversation with a few friends that I love
and my journey to become truly happy with myself which included
putting away the scale and not telling myself how ugly I was when I look in the mirror.
That's a hard thing to teach yourself after year of abuse.
But I feel like the journey I have taken has enabled me to have true compassion for
others who might have walked my journey and have pain.
I was touched by a friend who didn't want to compare her pain to mine
when I firmly believe that all pain is pain and it's all relevant and shapes us so
your pain might be less then or more than mine but I still respect that pain.
I decided to make her this frame- as I created it, I felt the love in my hands and
as I kept adding more embellishments the more happy it made me.
which is 18" LONG! I love it!!
I wanted her to see this every day and remember that she is incredibly
beautiful and others see it.
This is how I created it, I would love to know if you decide to make one!
  1. Separate XL Rectangle Deco Top Frame and using Krylon Coral paint, spray paint chipboard base.
  2. Using Clear Scraps 12" Heart Arrow Mascil/Stencil and Krylon metallic paint (Brushed Nickel) spray paint edges and stencil onto base.
  3. Take white paper flowers of all sizes and the 2 Krylon paints, paint them using both.
  4. Using lace- adhere lace around edges onto chipboard (not on acrylic top frame) and trim off excess.
  5. Take acrylic top layer of frame and remove protective film.
  6. Using paper lace tape- add accents to top and bottom of acrylic as shown in the photo.
  7. Where you are placing flowers and accents use hot glue to adhere acrylic top layer to chipboard layer. (remember you will cover the hot glue with flowers and other accents so no glue will be seen)
  8. Hot glue gold sequin strand around inside edges.
  9. Layer flowers using buttons and pearls, I used foam pop dots to lift them up.
  10. Adhere to frame as shown using hot glue.
  11. Add crystals and keys.
  12. On the back add picture hanger.
  13. Take Thickers fabric letters, spray paint using BOTH paints.
  14. HOT glue the letters to base- I don't use only the adhesive on the letters for any him decor I always add hot glue or adhesive.
That's it! Put your empowerment message inside and give to a friend.
A Bible verse if you are inclined or a prayer, anything that adds encouragement.

Happy Tuesday friends. :)

~Crystal Beaded Card~

Good morning my amazing crafty friends,

I created this fun card to share because I have the privilege
of working with Connie Crystals and amazing crystal company.
Perfect for adding to my projects, I love the unique touch it adds.
This is a card I made using the
SRM Stickers, canvas triangle from Canvas Corp, My Mind's Eye & 7Gypsies
paper plus some vintage lace and twine.
I stamped right on the canvas using StazOn ink, then stamped a
matching butterfly and cut it out.
I used Beacon Zip Dry adhesive for the entire card adding my own lace.
I truly love this card it's so pretty in person too!
Cannot wait to send it off to my girlyfriend!

They will have a new website up soon with full instructions too!
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend~

~Pocketful Of Memories~

Good morning my friends,

I told y'all I have been crafting this week and one of my projects
is for a friend of mine (Lindy), who is an amazing inspiration to me,
as is her daughter who has helped her mom from the first day.
I have only known her about a year but she has really touched my life.
When Lindy asked me to make a page for her sister in law of course I said YES.
Lindy is a Cancer survivor and she is full of life.
I am always amazed by the people I meet. Those who show you what
is really important in life and just how much surviving really means.
I think that must be our common bond: survival.
She was featured in the Martina McBride video, you can read her
amazing story here: Lindy's Story
It's always hard to figure out what to do on a page you make for someone else
but I had an idea of exactly what I wanted to do for this special page.
Lindy is full is spunk and amazing love...I wanted to make it a heartfelt page
full of bling and pearls. The pocket is filled with photos and newspaper
clippings, there were so many I wanted a nice place to put them
without making 6 or 7 actual pages so I came up with the pocket.
As I approach 40 I am meeting the most amazing people.
This was another way crafting has helped me to reach out
to people who really make a difference in this world~
For this project I used:
Clear Scraps 12X12 acrylic sheet, KanBan Crafts, Beacon 3N1, Viva Decor Pearl Pens,
Momenta alphas, Clearsnap Smooch Spritz on the alphas, vintage lace, stickles.

~Scrapping with vintage lace & acrylic~

Good morning!!!!
It's a beautiful and very cold day today. I love it,
I am so ready for snow....hopefully it will soon then I will
feel ready for Christmas.

This week we are slowly but surely decorating and I am
feeling the holiday spirit for sure ♥

I love mixing old and new scrap products like
acrylic and vintage lace...I think it adds such a lovely
touch and it reminds me of my grandmother and history.

I made this layout at Tally Scrappers for a contest to win chocolate LOL

For the base I used a 12X12 Clear Scraps acrylic page then I cut
out the Hambly Doily Overlay and placed it on the acrylic, then covered it in lace.
I also love adding Platinum Paint to my layouts when I
do vintage looking pages. I used the Folk Art Metallic Taupe
paint because it looks just like Platinum.
I also spritzed the journaling spots with Spun Sugar Smooch
for a more aged vintage look with shimmer.♥
I love the new Extreme Tac adhesive from Glue Arts for the acrylic too
it stays on, it does NOT yellow and crack like the glues I have used
and it sticks really hard which is what I need, I like my pages to last!
I wish I could have captured all the detail on this layout.
I used almost a whole box of flowers from Imaginisce, I love
how they layered and the tulle flowers in the box.
I also used the i-rock and the swirls template that is so hard to find.
♥Ohh La La♥

The double lace was from my friend Gloria,
I have such amazing supportive friends including my online buddies
I am so very blessed to have so many friends who are so wonderful.

Ok I am off to bake the day away, we have
a party coming up on Saturday so I need to get it done!
The list is...
Caramel Corn (3 batches!) ♥
Cookies
Fudge
Brownies
Jell-o shots

I better get busy!!!
Happy Thursday everyone
~Have a beautiful day~

~Oh Vintage Lace, how I love thee!~

Good morning my fellow crafters!

I had such a great response to the layout I did last week with the
big fat raindrop on it, I thought I would make a quick
video tutorial of the lace flower I made...they are so quick
and easy to make, plus they look fabulous! I love saving $$ and making
my own embellishments. I am thinking about making some hair clips too!
You can find yards and yards of vintage lace at Goodwill or on eBay!
It is so beautiful, I love it all!

If you have not signed up to be a part of Timeless Daydreams,
now is the time.
They are having an impromptu CROP!
RIGHT HERE

Have a crafty-liscous day!
