~Happy Hump Day *Chicken Update*~

Good morning my amazingly crafty friends,

I DO have a craft to share today but first I wanted to share
a quick chicken update.
My chickens have fans of their own you know *wink*
I never expected people would really care about the chickens
but I get weekly emails asking to please post.

So love it or not they are here to stay!

We have decided that 10 chickens just happen to be
the perfect amount for our family.
Enough eggs for us and a couple extra here and there.
However, I want to have extra to sell so the goal is 20.
Here is the next yesterday at 4pm. 8 eggs not to shabby :)
I took a couple shots of the chickens at dusk
You can see it is fall in Tennessee , and becoming chilly in the morning
but they are doing fine.
They have actually dug little holes they snuggle in during the day
I have not figured that out just yet. I have to research.
Now the boys are not happy about the cool weather because
the water freezes and they have to change it more LOL

I say "It's good for em!" Let them work, it's great to see
how real life rolls *grin*

Ok now if you are more straight laced just come back tomorrow
and read no further. But I have both very relaxed friends
and very strict friends, this one is for the more relaxed.

I am doing an ATC swap with a couple close friends
it is a "Release your inner bitch" ATC swap.
I was very inspired by these silly 50's retro tags I found
on Bluntcard.com...HILARIOUS!
Just silly and fun. Private joking fun.
Anyways here are my cards....I went VERY PINK! :)
I used my Ba Da Bing Bling (Hot Pink Momma)
you can just see it a little on the paper I used here.
I also used the Clear Scraps ATC cards (YEA acrylic!)
I just had fun and went glittery, funky, artsy, PINK!
Sometimes it is fun to let loose and go a little crazy :)
Happy Hump Day!!!
~Thank YOU for popping by and saying hi~

Great Project....love it!!!

Wishing you a great day Miss Pinky!!!

love hearing about your chickens, as long as I don't have to gather the eggs. Tell the boys that it is much easier to change the water than gather eggs.

Love you cards, they are so cute and so what I would expect from you.

LOLOLOL you are too funny Pinky! What a great idea for a swap. And that pic of you looking over the top of you glasses was perfect for the swap. My sweetie says thats my worst look! So I used it often ;) One of my sons has chickens, and they love them. I like a little
farming update from them too.

LOVE the ATC cards!! Your chickens are looking mighty healthy and happy. Happy chickens make happy eggs. Or something like that. :-)

Hee...hee! Those cards are a total crack up - love them! and the chickens - oh my, you are so blessed to have those chickens. Just to see those beautiful eggs every day. As for the water freezing - you'll have to invest in one of those doggy water bowls that plug in and keep the water from freezing.

The real question is, do you eat turkey on Thanksgiving?

Love to see how the chickens are doing, and they are so fun to learn about and take care of.
I miss mine and enjoyed when they heard my voice they would come running.
LOVE LOVE the atc card, what an original. This should be your business card! Have you thought of that?

If I recall correctly, those little snuggle holes are to regulate body temperature - the dirt cools in the hot weather and helps keep heat in the colder weather. My grandparents had a small farm and I used to gather the eggs. I got pecked on the head when I was five and have pretty much hated chickens ever since!

glad the chickens are working out well; hope they have a snug henhouse for winter! And I LOVE those ATCs (and I'm not an ATC person at all); I think I need a list of the "bitch rules"!
