~My first day on the DT~

And all I can say is...I am downright GIDDY!
I just uploaded my first CHALLENGE and my first KIT Reveal! I am so excited!
This was a beautiful Kit to work with! Here is my FIRST LO and there is a Sketch to go with it!
Of course in celebration I have a PASS The RAK game on Treasured Scrapbooking!

I love the classic look of cream, black and red together. It just screams timeless.
I also dug into my glitter glue lastnight and scrapped this page.
I was a scrapping fool yesterday! LOL
Between sewing that is.

Well, off to be a mom today.
I am sick once again so I am hoping the boys wake up feeling better than I do.
Poor hubby is sick too.
It's that time of year.

~Sewing Sunday~

Well, no scrapping for me today, and a discovery! LOL
I need a PLUS sized mannequin!
No matter how much I pin the dresses with sleeves they just slide right off my
skinny minny mannequin!
I have spent the last couple days cutting, piecing and sewing.
I found some beautiful crushed Panne fabric and it is that time of year!
Time for holiday dresses and time for Christmas money *I hope*

I love sewing, I love scrapping, it's just finding the time for both!
I do have a deadline today though so I must scrap one page.
And I have a purple dress that needs to be finished, so back to my craft room I go!

~Sleepy Saturday!~

No I am not tired from waking up early and Black Friday Shopping.

Although I did manage to go around 10am to Joanns, where it was STILL packed!
I waited in the fabric cutting line (20 deep) and hubby went to the checkout line (50 deep) and about when I was done he was up front so we met in the middle.
I managed to buy a TON of CRUSHED Velvet Fabric for all the holiday dresses I make! WOOHOO~!
Christmas money!
And I snuck in a new corner rounder actually 2 of them!
The Fiskars squeeze punch and the EK success.

So if you ever wondered the difference between the sizes of the larger Fiskars Corner rounder squeeze punch and the medium EK Success corner rounder punch. Well here is a close up.
But to be fair Fiskars does make a smaller one, BUT not an XL one!
I have a much larger EK success one for my large scallops.
But they all scallop.
Truth me told I just wore out my old EK success corner rounder.

Then I came home and made 3 dresses and scrapped a page!
WOOHOO felt good to scrap let me tell you!Have a wonderful Saturday!

~Have a beautiful Thanksgiving~

A simple but love filled Thanksgiving happened in our home today.
Just me and my boys (includes hubby) and lots, I do mean LOTS of home cooked food!

Some video games and Christmas music while cooking.
Yesterday I spent the entire day baking
Pumpkin Pies
No Bake Cookies
Home Made Bread
Mud Pies
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Just call me Pinky Crocker!~
and this morning I woke up and made the Turkey and all the fixin's.
Thanks to hubby who set the Table and peeled potatoes for me.

It was just a pleasant relaxing day with my family, making new traditions.
And enjoying each other.

My wish for you, is to have a beautiful family (or friend) filled Thanksgiving Day

~What I worked on WEDNESDAY~

This is what I worked on almost all day yesterday!
Plus uploading 8 videos on how to make it! hehe
I really like how it turned out though and I am going to use it as a Christmas
Book to sit with my snowmen!
It has 8 pages total but I am only showing 3! LOL

It's been a busy week and last night we braved the grocery store.
Oh my Walmart on a Tuesday Before Thanksgiving is a big JOKE!

On a side note I wanted to share what my amazing,
talented son made for me yesterday! LOL

Ok Ok I know, why am I woohooing on a MONDAY! LOL
Well, #1 I decorated my house (halfway) this weekend and we watched Christmas Movies and listened to my new Toby Keith Christmas CD.
I know some are telling me it's too early but I needed some fun snowman cheer!
On the 1st or so we will go find a Christmas tree and decorate it. So we can spread it out!

And #2. I spent my weekend filming my ACRYLIC LO CLASS!! WOOHOO!
So it is finally done and going on sale TODAY! hooray! I am SO excited!

~Chilled to the Bone Saturday~

Have you seen this new BELLA BLVD paper? Oh my goodness it is FUN and pretty!
All the trees and clouds...YUMMY stuff!
This is a sneak peek of one of my LO's.
ScrapFreak sells it, that is where I bought mine, oh and my BF brought me some!

I LOVE Stickles but I do not always find them, so when I went to Hobby Lobby
this week, they have GLITTER glue on sale 50% off.
So I bought large bottles for 1.50! And even though they are not as precise as Stickles,
they do look good and saved me about 10.00!
So in a pinch or if you are on a budget like me...try glitter glue!
The one I used here is copper.

I woke up to 14...YES I said 14 degree weather this morning....
it has warmed to a nice tropical 23 now LOL
My heater has been running ALL night long!
I never do that, I like a chilled night but not today.
It's just DAMN cold out there!

Now for all you wonderful faithful blog readers...

I did my Dreamgirls Blog challenge!

I used the new Tim Holtz Mask from Noel Mignon's kit Home Sweet Home
and Metal from her kit (the key)
and DEFINITELY used the Gratitude attitude theme!
I am NOT happy with the mask but that's ok, I won't love every LO so it's all good.
My husband loves it and he is the one who counts!
Tally Scrapper's also had a challenge like this so I combined them!
I love combining challenges.

It is a FRIGID morning this morning, I need to learn how to stand with my boys at the bus stop
with a HEATER! BUUURRRR!!

OK you may ask what in the world these are??
Well guess what? I SCRAPPED! Yesterday I scrapped 2 pages! WOOHOO!
But I cannot share just yet because they are my first DT pages for
Treasured Scrapbooking.
So instead I thought I would post a sneaky PEEK!
Just to show I really did scrap pages for the first time in over 2 weeks! I am so happy!

Fact 1. I have a hole in my nose (no not from DRUGS!) from a freak accident when I was 19 and I can put a pencil through my nose. Handy? NO but freaky for drunk parties? YES!

Fact 2. I might have PINK hair but I am so thoroughly domesticated and conservative,
it ain't even funny!

Fact 3. I love baking, I bake everything form home made bread to home made jam.
Love it!

Fact 4. Since moving away from my lifelong home, Oregon.
I do not miss Oregon one little bit, but I do miss the Oregon Strawberries,
and Julie, Cori, and Chelsea (My Ex step sisters/mom) So badly.
I never expected to miss them so much but I do.

Fact 5. When I died my hair pink, I NEVER once thought about the stares and questions I would get. I just did it because I LOVED it and it represented breaking free from the restraints of abuse and secrets....so I did it. And the first day I was blown away and almost scared by all the people who made fun of me and stared.
Now I am used to it but then I was so naive, it just never occurred to me that anyone would care what color hair I had or even stare at all? Yea, I know I am crazy huh? Crazy stupid! LOL

Fact 6. I started scrapping just to fit in with a group of friends who I secretly thought were insane. I found scrapping to be expensive and ridiculous, then I got hooked. And realized scrapping is what you make of it. And for me it is a creative outlet to share my life story with not only my family but others who travel the same path.

Fact 7. My online friendships mean just as much to me as my real life (very few of those) friendships. I have found that out recently and it sort of shocks me. But it's true.

So that is me in a nutshell.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....just let me say it again....AHHHHHH....hehehe Nothing to do today but stay home and RELAX! I think me and both my visitors are all feeling the same way! We all are so dang tired! It's nice to have a restful day!

Well did y'all miss me?
I have been SWAMPED this weekend/week.
Last couple weeks I had a HUGE dress order come in then preparing for the
BEST scrapping event I have ever been to! The Nashville Fiskateer Fisk-A-Friendzy!

And wow it was SOOOOOO much better than I ever anticipated!
First of all having Cherrie and Aymee fly in was wonderful and visiting with them for 4 days
just made it so special.
Then meeting REBECCA the Lead Fiskateer just made it so much more special.
I know Fiskars did the online Fiskateers for promotion,
but they created something so special.

Not only a place for crafters to come and learn and chat BUT a place to meet your local scrapbookers and create a lifetime of friendships.
I don't think that has a price tag.
I am HOPING praying they do it again next year!
But I know it had to be terribly expensive!!

I know how hard Rebecca worked on it and how hard people
who volunteered worked as well!

~Wacked out Wednesday!~

Oh my, ONLY 2 more days Until my friends arrive and we get those PINK Party Started!
I did a few tags yesterday and this morning as well.
For the Just Scrappin' girls. We are making 100 tags and attaching some flower embellishments as small gifts for the girls at the Fisk-a-Friendzy!
My friend Ziggy asked me WHY?? WHY?? did I make my tags to fancy and embellished. And I got thinking..."well, its just ME, if I did plain no frill tags, it would not really represent my style much would it?" LOL
So I spent hours adding skirts and frills and lace and all that "junk" LOL
But I am thrilled with the end result of both sets of tags I made.
I like my craftiness to represent me and my style.
Not just throwing paper together and calling it good.
Not for me anyways (:
Oh and Thank YOU Sara on Treasured Scrapbooking who suggested a VERY similar design for a candy wrapper and I just took the concept and turned them into tags!

Oh and the most wonderful news! I did in fact receive some PINK cowboy boots yesterday!
Not the first pair I ordered because 1888gofootwear just screwed me out of my boots and money. BUT I did get some from Sheplers and they ROCK!
And yes, these are my sexy legs LOL I might be a plus sized girl but I have some shapely legs!

What an amazing morning I have had.
I woke up sick to my stomach and with a horrible migraine but guess what??

~Scrappy Sunday? I think NOT~

Well, I did get my scrap on just a little yesterday for the Fiskateers Crop.
But FAR from my best work. I am still coughing and sneezing like a madwoman
and the kids needed mommy all day and Hubby was home too plus grocery shopping, house cleaning, packing away unused dishes, cleaning out the shower etc....
You know...LIFE! haha

But I did stop and do this little paper doll..OK OK
don;t laugh too hard! I just had fun with it and I feel like I could have really done her up good and went to town on her but honestly I just did NOT have time!
I had so much going on and no quiet time at all. I was making her in between reading with Justice and brushing the boys teeth and vacuuming.

She does make me chuckle though.
I also finished my 30 tags for the Fiskateer SWAP at the Fisk-a-Friendzy! YEA!



Now back to reality, I have a HUGE sewing order of 12 dresses and only have them cut and 5 serged, so I need to get off the computer and get them done TODAY.
ONLY 6 more days until the Fisk-A-Friendzy and only 5 more until Cherrie and Aymee come!

~Good morning Saturday, ONLY 6 More days to go!!~

I am SO excited today!
It is ONLY 6 more days until Cherrie and Aymee Fly into Nashville
for a 4 day visit and the Fisk-a-Friendzy!
The anticipation is killing me!

I was trying to figure out what in the heck to bring to my first BIG crop then I decided....
to just go ahead and BUY a pre-made kit and after looking around and worrying
about getting it shipped here in time I decided on this one from Noel Mignon

Normally I would not blog about what kit I buy but I am in
TN and she is in CA and I am not kidding I got the kit in ONE DAY!
I was so happy and it is perfectly coordinated and filled with new goodies,
so I am ready to create!
A little on the spendy side for me. But I figure it is worth it for a special day.
And I am hoping I actually get to scrap! I am dying here! LOL

And on a side note. My friend Jennifer F. is doing a class at Scrapbook Heaven.
It is a REVERSIBLE THANKFUL BANNER one side says WELCOME and one side
says THANKFUL and its a KIT that will also do 2 full page Layouts.
So I told her I would put it on my blog and get the word out.

Well, that's all for me today. I sound like a big advertising board this morning LOL
I am still sick but feeling better today for some reason.
I am coughing and croupy but I feel more like myself and less crazy! LOL
If that is possible.
I made 30 tags yesterday and am hoping to do 10 more today between
cleaning and shopping for company coming!
Gotta stock up on food and drink and get ready to bake before they get here.
I am thinking Pumpkin pies, Homemade Bread and maybe Gingerbread Cupcakes!

Gingerbread Cupcakes
Hannaford Fresh Magazine Sept/Oct, 2008

½ cup butter, melted
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup molasses
1 egg
½ cup buttermilk (or sour milk)
2 ½ cups flour
½ tsp. baking soda
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ginger
¼ tsp cloves

Combine butter, sugars and molasses. Add egg and buttermilk and mix until blended. Sift dry ingredients and add to butter mixture. Mix until flour is just incorporated. Do not over mix. Bake at 350° until surface springs back when you touch it lightly. Cool, frost and decorate.

~Scrapping withdrawals~

I have been so sick and still am coughing and sneezing
but I knew I had better get to scrapping because I have not only 30 tags due before the swap
but also some tags to so for Just Scrappin' for the Fisk-a-Friendzy.
SO yesterday I dosed up on Day-quil and sat on the floor making these tags!

And Denise sent me this SUPER cute Hello Kitty bag that I am going to take the tags in!
How fun is that?!! I am so excited!
ONLY 7 more days until the Fisk-a-Friendzy and
ONLY 6 More days until Cherrie and Aymee fly in to stay with me!
WOOT WOOT!

~Slowly But surely recovering~

You know I never miss a day blogging but this week has knocked me down! I went to bed lastnght at 5pm and slept through until this morning.
I have had a terrible cold plus laryngitis to boot!

But I am on my way to recovery and should be back to scrapping this weekend!
Just thought I better check in so everyone knows I am alive!
