~Sunday is here, what a great weekend!~

Good morning my crafty friends.
This weekend has been an amazing weekend for our family.

I began the weekend Friday night, it was Becca's
birthday bash so we all met in town and went out for the evening.
Can you believe this is the first time in over 4 years
hubs and I have been out alone? Crazy huh?
It was so fun to dress up and go out for a bit.
We had to dash out early because the next morning we
had a commitment to meet up and help to make 500 pillowcases
for Conkerr Cancer. What an amazing day that was.
It was so wonderful to see everyone work together to
make all these pillowcases for the children.
Here is a list of companies who donated
to the cause by donating food.
if you know these companies please frequent them
and thank them for donating food to all the hard workers
who spent 10 hours making pillowcases.
*Especially the Middle TN area*

Sadly I took my boys home after 8 hours,
but they were so amazing, they ran fabric back and forth
cut, ironed and all the good stuff :)

On to scrappy schtuff!
Have you been to Dirty Scraps this weekend?
Here is my Layout for the challenge.

I used the Steam Punk Graphic45 papers, and
let me say I am IN LOVE! I also used my PLAID paint
and some Basic Grey.
I will definitely be finding the entire
Steam Punk line and buying it!!!!!!
If you want to find out more about the amazing
emotional challenges on Dirty Scraps
please do visit and play along.

Now I am off to finish up preparing for 2 birthday parties
we are having at our home today! I now am a mom to
an 8 yr old, 7 yr old and 15 yr old....oh how time flies :)

~Happy Sunday y'all!~
~ Thanks for stopping by and sharing in our lives~

Morning my amazingly crafty friends.
I had an inspiring day yesterday,

Rebecca Peck introduced me to Conkerr and it has
stolen my heart. It really is a great cause.

Ok on to Crafty schtuff!
This is what I have been working on for the last few days...
and I have a story for you! LOL
So I head to Michaels thinking I would spend a couple bucks and
buy a foam wreath for the base of a project for Imaginisce/Purple Cows.
I get to the wreaths bases and hellooooooooo 7.99??? Umm
I don't think so! I have 3 kids with me, an impatient hubby and no coupon.
So I tell the boys to spread out and start hunting momma up a
cheap wreath. Just then I look over and I see a HAY wreath, neatly
wrapped in plastic wrap. OMG YES! Only 1.99 now I can handle that.
I snatch that sucker up and take it home and start working on it.
I left the wrap on because I THOUGHT it would be easier to work with.
Ok #1 did you know that wrap was not permanent? LOL
I had hay all over my chest and down my bra, what a freakin mess.
#2 Helmar 450 Quick Dry is my best friend in the whole world at
this point, becuase if I have to hold or glue one more piece of plastic and
flippin' HAY down, I might die! LOL
All in all I am pleased with it.
I used the NEW Brand new *that's right* Imaginisce To Love and Cherish
paper line....LOVES IT!
I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry (nothing else would have worked period)
SCAL
Clearsnaps glitter
And my handy dandy Purple Cows Freestyle Mouse.
I hope it was worth it. I will have FULL instructions for how to
on the Purple Cows blog this week some time
(they don't tell me when they love to surprise me LOL)

Don't forget the Helmar giveaway from yesterday, you have until
Tomorrow at 12noon Central to respond.
We almost hit 100 fans from
this post and remember what I said OVER 100 I give away more glue!

TOMORROW I WILL BE GIVING AWAY ONE SET

~Wednesday, what an amazing day ahead & Helmar GIVEAWAY!!!!~

Good morning! I am so excited today because Cindy Conkerr
is coming to meet me at 10:00am!
What a blessing this will be, I am very excited! I will take pictures for sure!

Meanwhile...do you want to win some V2 Adhesive from Helmar?
Keep on reading! :) Pay no attention to the dork behind the camera! LOLOK on to the "experiment"
Gail had a GREAT question on my Helmar project the other day,
she asked if the V2 spray glue (Vellum adhesive) would stay affixed or if it fell apart like
other adhesives she had used. You all know I am the no BS girl, so I called
Helmar and decided to give it a good old fashioned experiment and this is what
they told me, and what I found! :)

They told me the bond is permanent, it does not dry out and fall off.
I wanted to test it out for myself and share with y'all.
I sprayed the Helmar V2 Vellum Adhesive on both cardstock and paper yesterday.
I left it overnight because I wanted to see if it was going to fall off.
Now this morning when I got up
This is what happened, I tried to tear the Hambly off and it tore my cardstock.
Now remember I sprayed both sides to stick it together and you can see
it is still clear.
*I am NOT compensated by Helmar for this, this experiment is
completely on my own for my crafty friends who have asked me*
Gail, thanks for the awesome question! I hope this
answers it for ya, this Hambly ain't going anywhere LOL

Here are a few FREE SVG files for your Cri-kit Pens :)
Great for drawing, I also layered the flower so you can draw then different colors
on different layers, easy peasy right?
Just click the picture to download.

~The bigger picture~

Good morning my friends.
Amidst tending to sick babies this week
I had some lovely news.
Have you heard of ConKerr Cancer?
It is an AMAZING charity that distributes pillowcases to hospitals
for children all over the US.

“ConKerr Cancer: A Case for Smiles” was started when Ryan Kerr was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer at the age of twelve. Despite his illness - and many, many trips to the hospital - Ryan lived a full life of school, sports and friends. To make his hospital room cheerier, his mom Cindy began making fun, whimsical pillowcases to brighten up his day and put a smile on his face. Ryan liked them so much that Cindy started making pillowcases for the other children in the Oncology Unit. In a short time, the pillowcase project grew in amazing ways and has provided more than 160,000 pillowcases to sick children. Thousands of volunteers from across North America and South Africa have joined in so that ConKerr has more than 100 chapters serving over 150 hospitals.

This wonderful charity was introduced to me and the other
Fiskateers by the amazing Rebecca Peck, and she
really put a fire in me and the other Fiskateers to join in and help.
I was making pillowcases and found out they did not have a coordinator for
the Nashville area, after speaking with Cindy, I will be getting my
coordinator package sometime next week!
I am so looking forward to this journey, even hubby is excited to help.
You can go to the website and find a place to drop off pillowcases
you can donate fabric, you can just cut them if you want to!

So please do check it out, and you WILL be hearing more from
this Middle TN gal very soon!

One more layout from my emotional DT work at
Scrapbooking From The Inside Out
I am almost afraid to share this one...it touches so deep
and I worry it will detour people and my craft work....but this is me
and my life 100% :) so I go on...
I get so many of those comments
"wow interesting" but you know me
it is not an angry layout it is just reality.
I never understood how having 6 children did not help my mother
to stand strong and stop abusing, because for me the love of my children
would never allow me to continue that abuse.
I guess her pain ran a little too deep. I don't think
I am capable of understanding it completely.
I do feel an enormous amount of sorrow for her but also
there is always some sadness in my heart that I cannot explain to
someone who has always had a mother since I never did.
Anyways, that's me today...just wondering and reflecting.
This has been the MOST intense series of layouts I have ever done.
I wish I could say all this to my parents, but since they are not
available to listen I guess My scrapbook is a great place to put it all.

That's it for me today...I hope you look into ConKerr
I know all you crafty people can make a huge difference!
Off to my sick boys, wish me luck! hehe

~Have a great day~
~Thank you for stopping by and being so kind~
