Fall Theme Luminaries Instructions Included!

 Happy Monday friends,
Most of you know my son has Autism, this weekend was so cool because he competed
in an archery tournament. You know he quit baseball because the coaches
were s intense with him, he had nightmares and was picked on by
the "cool" kids...so archery has been a BLESSING in so many ways.
A sport that he not only seems to be starting well at but also
no one bullies him or YELLS at him to do better or HIT THE BALL!
I love that the sport is coached by officers who care so much.

Anyways he won the "Spirit Award" this weekend. great weekend for him.

Anyways he is so scared of the dark, and lately we have had power outages
in our area, so I decided to make him these little luminary bags to set
on his dresser when the power goes out.
Inside they contain a battery operated flameless candle, completely
safe and perfect to keep him feeling comforted.
If you go to the Samantha Walker Blog you will find a set of step
by step instructions to make your own using Krylon paint paired with SW cut files!

These would also make wonderful holiday table decor, or even
on your TV stand etc....they are so easy to make and pretty to boot!

for a paper pack too! :)

My project today is definitely spring themed,
I created a Sun Catcher using the Free File that is going to be given away.
Here is the file. :) And here's how I created it.
Cut the Samantha Walker file with Silhouette Cameo cut it twice in
two shades of pink using Card Stock.
Run doilies through Xyron  9" Creative Station, rub and peel.
Press against each other- and rub to ensure adhesion.
Also set it just slightly off so each pink shows through other side.
Using jewelry post- layer through crystal and flowers-
poke through doily and repeat on other side.
Fold and cut post.
Add crystal sun catcher to bottom and tie twice.
Add Liquid Pearl all around set to dry and repeat on second side.
Thread top with pearl strand or ribbon.
That's it! A beautiful Sun Catcher that's perfect to brighten up your window.
Now go enter to WIN and grab your free file!

~TWO FREE SVG's- Card + Sneak Peek!~

Hey there,
Happy hump day! We had a lovely evening out to dinner
for hub's birthday and a friend dropped by yesterday asking me to help
with a card for her boss who is going away- but it had 3 requirements!

HUGE card so everyone could sign it,
Man with a microphone (an inside joke)
and it had to say Squeak Squeak Squeak...
Not to turn down a challenge of course I was ON IT! LOL
Anyways i could not find a little man so I ended up creating
this man with a microphone SVG myself and using it.

No it's not my usual style but I think it's fun and it meets her needs
and after all that's what crafting is all about! :)
I also started working on the amazing Creating Made Easy July kit!
WOOHOO You are going to LOVE it! Here is a tiny sneak peek!

And here is a FREE link to the man with a microphone SVG if you ever
need one- since I made it I think I might as well share it! LOL
You can download the link here for free-

I don't know if anyone will use it but here it is! LOL

And here is one more I created for good measure-
I needed this a couple weeks ago- it's a Rectangle Scalloped Border
great for cards or photos mattes! :)
It is for Silhouette only because it is a Studio file.

Anyways enjoy and have a wonderfully crafty day!
Love to all- appreciate your support.

**Prizes**Halloween- SW Creative Team Monthly Blog Hop!

Good morning my crafty friends,
It's that time of month again! Time for the Samantha Walker
Creative Team blog hop and this month's theme is HALLOWEEN!

I decided to create this festive Halloween Wall Hanging
I stitched the fabric onto a piece of chipboard, then layered on the die cut.
I used Copper Stickles to make the die cut pop.
And layered it all onto a painted sheet of Clear Scraps acrylic.
Now I am ready for Halloween...or at least my wall is! LOL

Now for the HOP INFO!

Just comment by Sunday, 10/14 at 11:59pm MDT
in order to be eligible for the free SVG/Silhouette file as well as the prize

~Tutorial- Creating Your Custom SVG File~

Good morning my crafty friends,

What an amazing weekend at the DEMO DERBY! :)
Hope your weekend went well.

Sunday we chilled all day and I sat down to make a card for
my son's baseball coach and I could not find what I wanted to create,
so I decided to just make my own SVG file and cut it on my
awesome Silhouette Cameo machine!
Here is the finished card with our team logo, fun times right?
While I was creating it I thought I would just take photos and share
how to make your own SIMPLE SVG from a simple line drawing file.
(This is not advanced just a beginners tutorial)

I began with the team logo (for personal use only) and opened it in
INKSCAPE - a free program.

I found the JPEG I planned on using (Clogo) and clicked it.

Once it popped up on the Inkscape screen I clicked it (selected it)
and it created a box around it.

I then clicked the toolbar "PATH".

Then clicked "TRACE BITMAP". This grabs the simple line image.

After that I selected "UPDATE" this will actually create your cut lines
for your SVG. If it is spotty or you have issues you will see it in the update preview.

If you have too many spots etc...you can play with the OPTIONS and click UPDATE again.

When you are satisfied drag the image away and you will
see the BLACK cut file and beneath it is the original file.
I just delete the original and keep the black one.

Then click FILE in the toolbar and SAVE AS.

Save as PLAIN SVG then you can use it in your Silhouette software.

And that's it! :) I cut my card and it's ready to go.
Easy peasy right?

Ok I am off to create today and catch up from the fun weekend.
The boys LOVED the Demo Derby and we had ice cream after,
I can't think of a more amazing time! :)

Happy Monday my friends!
