~Chicken Update and Altered Fun~

Good morning my crafty friends :)

I was speaking to a very close friend this week and
we were discussing a layout I made last week with the rolled
paper candles on it. I was telling her (we were agreeing)
that having the Helmar 450 glue has really FREED
up our scrapbooking and enabled us to be so much more
creative. I never would have tried rolling paper
with regular wet glue, and this project is totally the same
thing. I NEVER would have altered a canvas bag
without my Helmar 450! LOL
While on vacation in GA we stopped by a quaint
historic mill and I found a canvas bag with the cornmeal
mill print on it, I loved it and knew right away I was
going to take it home and alter it!It was a great excuse to enter the Gauche Alchemy contest
HERE which is for mixed media altered art, and a reason
to get out my doo dads and play.
Now this bag won't be going on my washing machine but
I know it will last for a long time with the 450 glue holding the
pretty trinkets onto the canvas. I did not use one stitch
on the entire project, it is all just glued down.
I might seal it later on, not sure yet?

Here is the bag before I altered it, so what do you think?
I woke up early this morning (4am) to this beautiful sky.
You can see the thunder heads were moving away and the
sun was coming up and shining through.

I decided it was time to raid the chicken coop and
take some pictures for y'all.
You can kind of see the thin grey-ish ones...they are hopping wild
they are going to be laying blue/green eggs.
See the big one in the middle? She has sort of taken
over as flock leader until we get a rooster.
I could only get 9 in the frame, because chickens
are MUCH harder to photograph then you think! LOL
Getting all 10 in the shot was impossible! It seems we have set a TREND in out neighborhood, as
3 more neighbors have purchased chickens since we started LOL
This one is the sweet one, she let's you pet her.
She won't be fried chicken, we will let her live a long time*joking*
I bet she will be a great layer!
This is the baby, the one who had the light head,
she is the smallest and real sweet. Hubby loves
her, so she will be a keeper!~
This one is another sweet one,
she sort of pecks around ya when you come in instead of freaking out.
Here is the second in command, the assistant to the boss
she is pretty grumpy most days. You can
see she stares me down. She also jumps
onto the water can when I go out and tries to
be chicky bad ass. It's pretty funny!

OK that's it for me today...we lost our last game
last night and are done with baseball.
It's funny, the coach told the kids all week
"NO SWIMMING! No playing outside, REST up for the games"
So the first thing my son said after his game
was "MOM can we go swimming now?"
I think he is relieved and done with baseball for right now.

I am too! LOL Love it but happy to be done!

~Have a great day~
~Love ya for stopping by and caring~

~Happy Hump Day my crafty friends....~

Good morning my crafty-licious friends!
Since I did that Layout for SFTIO I have become
OBSESSED with giant photographs....
I wanted to do another layout with my eyes
without the pain and anger, so I made this one lastnight.

*BIG CONTEST ALERT*
Want to win a FLIP Video Camera??
http://helmarusa.typepad.com/blog/2010/06/helmar-flips-video.html
Helmar is having a HUGE contest! WOOHOO
wish I could enter!

Another Helmar page, I used my 450 and Adhesive runner
partnered with Scrap-tastic supplies!
Loving all the lush goodies.

OK indulge this Pink one with a few more
"vacation" pictures...
You know you are the MOM of BOYS when people
come up to you and say "Are those your boys?"
And you think...OMG what in the heck are they doing now!
Well this happens to me frequently with my oldest
I have had more mothers approach me saying that
then with any other boy so far.
We were on a small train (long ride but small train)
ride and a woman comes up to me not 5 minutes after I take
this shot from the from the back of the train and
she says..."You have those 3 boys? is that older
one yours?" I hung my head and said "yes"
She said..."I am watching him hang himself off the train and grab
things from the trees and rocks, he almost fell out too"
Lorday...*HMPH* I got nothing else to say about it
except that boy jumped 10 feet when I walked up to him
and he TRIED to tell me he had no idea it was wrong
but if your not doing anything wrong, you don't jump
10 feet and hit your head when momma walks in!
Here we are on the bus to the train
(hot as heck too!)
He insisted he get a picture with momma too!
The boys took their own...they are growing up fast!

Alrighty then, I was going to take pictures of a prize today
but it is thundering and lightning, so I am going to wait until
tomorrow. Don't forget the Dirty Scraps challenge will
be up tomorrow too!
NEW SPONSOR and a prize there!

Thanks for coming by to say hey!
~Have a great day~

~Creatively Creating Today, Free SVG's & Giveaway WINNER!~

Morning my friends,
yesterday was a long and trying day so not crafting for me.
My baby boy broke his poor little wrist.
here he is with his new brace. It was a small break and the best
possible place, but what a day it was getting him all fixed up!

But I did manage to experiment with my Helmar glue,
I got to thinking...what is one of my main complaints about sewing on
paper or with scrapbooking? My needle gums up!
Then I realized, if I waited until Helmar 450 dried on a project it shouldn't gum
up on my needle but it should be flexible enough to sew on...and sure enough
Hello!! No more sticky goo on my needle! So here is a quick how to make these flowers
and a tip for the next sewing/scrap project that needs glue!

More SVG's here for you faithful downloaders :)

~Happy Monday Winners!~

Good morning,
how is your Monday going so far?
We had a few kinks in the weekend....
such as a thunderstorm, my youngest one getting sick,
and the little chicks decided to go couch hopping! LOL

So here it is, we did get all the wood we needed for our chicken coop!
Granted we had to go about it differently since we no longer have a pickup,
but the van worked nicely and it gave the vehicle a lovely wood smell,
I think growing up with a logging family gave me a crazy love of wood smells! Now hubby said he was building the coop when I go away next weekend for
West Virginia, so remind me to leave him my extra camera, because
I NEED those pictures for all my friends online LOL

Now I have a short funny story.
This Hula girl is my most beloved souvenir from our trip to Hawaii
years and years ago, she reminds me that I am beautiful at any size
and to appreciate everyone in their unique shape and beauty.
you can understand I was heartbroken when she fell off my
dashboard last year even after I super glued it, so guess what I pulled out
today?? Yea, that's right this glue freak pulled out the good old Helmar 450! LOL
I will let you know how it goes??! So far so good!

OK on to the winners.....

~Just another amazing Monday~

Good morning my crafty friends,
I did nothing remotely crafty this weekend, except sew...
and my son had his very first baseball practice.
I loved every second of this weekend with the boys.

Since there is nothing too crafty to share this morning
I will just share a couple things coming up!
#1 is the huge blog hop with Helmar!
Not only will there be a huge prize at the end but also I will be
giving away my favorite glue! The one I rave about all the time
Helmar 450 Quick Dry

#2 Look to Helmar on the 11th I have a blog post coming with
a fun project to scrap those snowy pictures in a quick easy way.

#3 keep an eye out for my latest project and how to make it
yourself on Purple Cows Laminated gift baskets...I love
how easy they are and make a baked good gift seem
so extra special. :) This is a great time of year to give some spring cheer
to those wintery blue-filled neighbors :)This project and the project sheet to go with it should be coming up soon!
That's it for me today, I have a lovely day planned in front of my sewing machine
making a couple aprons for auction at a Lupus Charity crop.
Have a great and beautiful day

~A Special Valentine's Day Project!

Good morning all you lovely, beautiful crafters!
How is your week going?

I FINALLY finished my big project yesterday, I had a heck
of a time with it too. I was wanting to dismantle a frame and
write or etch on the glass, but I don't have a cricut or anything
to etch or make big letters, so I came up with this!
When I have a couple minutes I will be sharing a tutorial on how
to make this very look on glass!
It was SO easy I don't know why I did not think of it earlier!
The heart is a simple foam heart from Michael's Craft store
with glass pebbles in the middle of each Lace Flower (from my earlier tutorial)
and plenty of tulle. Oh and of course a big old dose of Helmar glue!
I used the 450 Quick Dry for the lace flowers
and the Professional Acid Free Glue for the outside of the pebbles and the glitter.
The glitter I used is the AWESOME glitter from ClearSnaps!
Hello...if you have not tried ClearSnaps products, they are rocking my world lately!
Between the SMOOCH SPRITZ and the FINE GLITTER
I am in glitzy heaven!
That awesome scroll with the vine?? That is also Clearsnaps...
its called a DESIGN ADHESIVE!
OH lorday...makes this pink one swoon!, You can add flocking, glitter
whatever you want!
OK I promise to get the glass tutorial to you tomorrow or Sunday.
I am off to the school to volunteer today so no more time for chit chat!
Remember this is the LAST day to enter to win the
Purple Cows Mouse Cutting System RAK, so head back and check in :)

~Some fun news today & 5 things I love~

Besides the 6" of snow that we all are happy about....

Helmar contacted me and let me know they used my videos on their blog!
Everyone asks me what adhesive I use and honestly
this is the glue I use, I just LOVE IT!
So I had fun sharing with my quirky videos.

http://helmarusa.typepad.com/blog/2010/01/guest-bloggerpinky-is-back.html
here is the blog :)
I'd love it if a few friends stopped by to let them know
that I am spreading the word.

I thought I would list 5 things I live today
because Valentine's Day is coming up and my anniversary
is coming up right quick.

#1
Beautiful weather, it always has been a fascination
and it always will be, this is the night before the big snow.
#2
My children's curiosity.
This might look like a silly bowl in the snow to some but to me
it was so cute.
My youngest wanted to "Catch" snow for "snow cones" hehe
So we set bowls out and filled them with snow for snow cones.
#3
You think I am going to say Coach! LOL but really I am going to say
my husband who every once in a while indulges me with a pretty
purse as a gift and is very talented at picking them out himself.
This was my anniversary gift a few days early.

#4
Friends! Whether they be online or in person, they all
help keep me on the right path!
Especially the ones I have known for a long time...
Let's see...Aymee, Kelly, Denise, Eva, Liz, Shelly, Janelle, Melissa,
Dolores, LJ, Patti, Nicole, Kristina, Tina, Vicki, Sarah, just to name a FEW
and new friends who rock!!
Adrienne, Tracy, Karen, Karen, V, Tanisha, Sarah, Julie, and many more!
I am so blessed and I know I did not post all the names...How could I?
If you are my friend, I thank you for sticking by me.
You have to be a strong woman to be my friend and you are awesome!
#5
This back scratcher is my new best friend! LOL
I love it and it is great for dry skin and short arms! I think I will be doing a list every week...just because I am
so very thankful and its a great reminder of the little things in our
every day lives.

OHHH and I almost forgot!!!
I am going to post a challenge tomorrow!!!!!
FOR A PRIZE!!!! So stay tuned! We are celebrating 300 followers!
I have not forgotten, just got busy with this school stuff and the snow...
~Have a great weekend~
~Thanks for popping by~

~Oh Vintage Lace, how I love thee!~

Good morning my fellow crafters!

I had such a great response to the layout I did last week with the
big fat raindrop on it, I thought I would make a quick
video tutorial of the lace flower I made...they are so quick
and easy to make, plus they look fabulous! I love saving $$ and making
my own embellishments. I am thinking about making some hair clips too!
You can find yards and yards of vintage lace at Goodwill or on eBay!
It is so beautiful, I love it all!

If you have not signed up to be a part of Timeless Daydreams,
now is the time.
They are having an impromptu CROP!

Have a crafty-liscous day!
