~Chicken Update and Altered Fun~

Good morning my crafty friends :)

I was speaking to a very close friend this week and
we were discussing a layout I made last week with the rolled
paper candles on it. I was telling her (we were agreeing)
that having the Helmar 450 glue has really FREED
up our scrapbooking and enabled us to be so much more
creative. I never would have tried rolling paper
with regular wet glue, and this project is totally the same
thing. I NEVER would have altered a canvas bag
without my Helmar 450! LOL
While on vacation in GA we stopped by a quaint
historic mill and I found a canvas bag with the cornmeal
mill print on it, I loved it and knew right away I was
going to take it home and alter it!It was a great excuse to enter the Gauche Alchemy contest
HERE which is for mixed media altered art, and a reason
to get out my doo dads and play.
Now this bag won't be going on my washing machine but
I know it will last for a long time with the 450 glue holding the
pretty trinkets onto the canvas. I did not use one stitch
on the entire project, it is all just glued down.
I might seal it later on, not sure yet?

Here is the bag before I altered it, so what do you think?
I woke up early this morning (4am) to this beautiful sky.
You can see the thunder heads were moving away and the
sun was coming up and shining through.

I decided it was time to raid the chicken coop and
take some pictures for y'all.
You can kind of see the thin grey-ish ones...they are hopping wild
they are going to be laying blue/green eggs.
See the big one in the middle? She has sort of taken
over as flock leader until we get a rooster.
I could only get 9 in the frame, because chickens
are MUCH harder to photograph then you think! LOL
Getting all 10 in the shot was impossible! It seems we have set a TREND in out neighborhood, as
3 more neighbors have purchased chickens since we started LOL
This one is the sweet one, she let's you pet her.
She won't be fried chicken, we will let her live a long time*joking*
I bet she will be a great layer!
This is the baby, the one who had the light head,
she is the smallest and real sweet. Hubby loves
her, so she will be a keeper!~
This one is another sweet one,
she sort of pecks around ya when you come in instead of freaking out.
Here is the second in command, the assistant to the boss
she is pretty grumpy most days. You can
see she stares me down. She also jumps
onto the water can when I go out and tries to
be chicky bad ass. It's pretty funny!

OK that's it for me today...we lost our last game
last night and are done with baseball.
It's funny, the coach told the kids all week
"NO SWIMMING! No playing outside, REST up for the games"
So the first thing my son said after his game
was "MOM can we go swimming now?"
I think he is relieved and done with baseball for right now.

I am too! LOL Love it but happy to be done!

~Have a great day~
~Love ya for stopping by and caring~

~Travel Fun w/ Paris Creativity~

Good morning my crafty friends! :)

As you know and is probably true in your lives,
I have MANY different friends.
Many ages and MANY diverse styles and tastes. Not all of them are the classic scrapbooking
vintage type of girls, some of them are the
Hello Kitty loving, glitzy bling-in', punk wearing type
of friends. WELL!!! I can't leave them out of my
crafting fun!~ hehe For one of those amazing
friends, I am making this flip album, for all of her
travel adventures. She just moved to TN and she is so fun
and sweet, I wanted to make her a flip book to put
her travel photos in.
So I pulled out my Paris Creativity
line because I felt it fit her more than my other
scrap style papers and embellishments.
I KNOW she is going to love it! And guess what? 100%
RECYCLED! I used that old book I found in the library
garbage bin, and I took the covers, cut them off,
filed the edges down and covered them with paper!
Here is how it begin....what a HUGE difference right?
I am going to add rings and many pages, but I wanted
to share the cover first and tell you to save those hardcover
books, or RESCUE some if you see them!

I cannot wait to do a vintage book BUT I
am so excited to see her face when she sees this one.
It's perfect for her style.

*Side note for my baseball friends*
We lost last night, it was a hard game too.
They played so discombobulated in the first 2
innings and came back full force in the last 2 but it
was too late. Very sad, but we play again tonight. :)

~Thanks for always stopping by and leaving comments~
~A appreciate your visits!~

~I learn something new every day!~

Good morning! I am running late today
because we had a VERY late baseball practice lastnight.
All the boys were involved and hubby too.
It was great but I have bug bites from here to Christmas
on my legs this morning! *OUCH*

I am always learning new things, every day
is a learning experience in my life.
Today I got to thinking that Father's Day was
right around the corner so I better
step up and make a card.
BUT, I wanted to make an acrylic card
*I never have before*
I had no clue how to make one besides attaching it
with rings or paper.
Sooo...I got to thinking...IF my 1040 Purple Cows Trimmer
can cut acrylic...I wonder??? Can it score acrylic too?
And make a neat fold???
Well guess what?? IT CAN!
It took 2 tries to get it right but if you run the score blade
over the acrylic 4 times, it makes a fold line.
And you can just fold the acrylic like you would paper!
That is exactly what I did!

Aren't these little tags cute from Bella BLVD?
I cut them up and used my Helmar Zapdots to pop some of them
up for added dimension and fun.
VERY simple card (because that is how this
card chick rolls). But fun and I think he will love it!

Oh and BTW the paper is on the inside not the outside.

~OK off to tournaments all week long~
GO TEAM BULLDOGS!
You just might have to endure some baseball mom
pictures later this week LOL

~Thank YOU for stopping by for a visit~
~Have a great Monday~
Don't forget those Father's Day Cards!!!

~Baseball Mom Saturday!~

Good morning my friends!
No scrapping for me today but as you know
the life of a crafting mom never ends LOL

This week I sort of volunteered myself (sort of LOL)
to make a giant baseball cake for the team
party today...so this is a 16" round cake I made.
I just finished adding the COYOTES 2010 name to it.
Also we are doing the signed baseball thing
for the poor coach, so I grabbed my Cricut and
cut out some letter from Gemstone Core'Dinations cardstock
and glued them down to the base...
That's what I love about crafting, you
can use it anytime!
Now to make a card!
I hope they don't think it's too cheasy
but what can you do on such short notice?
Our poor Coach he did the best he could,
he was a first time Coach, this league has no drafts
so they all leave the beginners and worst
players for the newest Coach and laugh all
the way to the ball park.
Who knew Little league had such politics?

They even gave him practice time, that they all
knew was baseball game time so our poor
team only got field practice like 4 times!
It was a huge joke to the other Coaches.
I find that really sad and wrong.

We were really lucky to have a Coach who
rolled with the punches and did the best he could
considering the circumstances.

OK Baseball mom rant over today LOL
Next year I know to get in there and kick
some butt!!!!!

~Hope you have a great weekend~
It's hot as heck and we have an outdoor
party to attend, so I will be a busy mom today!
~Thanks for popping by and indulging my baseball pictures :)~

~Happy Friday!~

Good morning! I was going through my vacation
photos and playing around and ran across
this one I took in *I think* Fayette-ville, TN
You know these buildings are so beautiful
and I wish they were still running Post Offices,
it's sad to see history slip away.
I guess I have an old soul.

We all know this one right?
this is why MOM holds the camera LOL
I have maybe 50 of these shots...of thisLesson learned, NEVER say
"Honey can you hold the camera for a few minutes?"
I have been scrapping ALL WEEK! I am working
on a couple acrylic projects, a new video
and a few more things...

This is another Helmar/Scrap-tastic Layout...
OMG I am in love with the ZEBRA FUR TRIM!
And the Lush Clear Paper...
BTW Never ask 2 boys to hold up some tulle and clothespins LOL
They practically did a carnival ride with the layout!
Bwhahaha, I was swinging and jumping to get a picture.
This is my friend Adrienne, she is sick
right now. We have known each other a long
time and she just moved to TN!
It's funny how life sends you in directions you never expected.
She came from Florida and I came from Oregon
and we met in the middle.
No plans just happened that way.

OK I am making a video today and tomorrow I hope...any
requests? Anything you want to see?
I want your input before I make one.
Let me know and don't forget about yesterday's GIVEAWAY!

I am baking a giant baseball cake today, so
lets' hope I survive and I will hopefully get pictures up tomorrow!

~Happy Friday my friends~

Good morning my crafty friends :)

Yes, I was scrapping again last night.
So happy to be home and playing with paper again!

Another fun Helmar project
For this one I used my Helmar Adhesive Runner
& the 450 for the fabric letters.
I was so excited to be able to participate
in my son's play this year (ok I was not in it)
But making the shirts and helping was fantastic!Scrap-tastic has been a long time supporter of Helmar
and when people ask me where to get Helmar
that is the place!
This is another great page from the Scrap-tastic partnership
Helmar has, I love the Prima ADORE and the
Pink Paislee papers!

On to FREE SVG's!
I am working on a project for CHA and
I needed a snowflake but could not find one anywhere
in my stash so I made myself a template
and changed it into an SVG.
So I have snowflake SVG's for ya!

They are much clearer in the cut :)
Just click on snowflake to download

Snowflake
Snowflake 2
Snowflake 3 (use larger because of intricate pattern)
I have not given anything away
for long enough! Time to have a blog drive!

I was so tickled to make it over 500, should we try for 1000?
WHOA Nelly right? LOL Ok ok how about 600 or 650.

and I have been saving a few items here and there
for a huge giveaway, I am happy to tell you I have an

~Happy Hump Day my crafty friends....~

Good morning my crafty-licious friends!
Since I did that Layout for SFTIO I have become
OBSESSED with giant photographs....
I wanted to do another layout with my eyes
without the pain and anger, so I made this one lastnight.

*BIG CONTEST ALERT*
Want to win a FLIP Video Camera??
http://helmarusa.typepad.com/blog/2010/06/helmar-flips-video.html
Helmar is having a HUGE contest! WOOHOO
wish I could enter!

Another Helmar page, I used my 450 and Adhesive runner
partnered with Scrap-tastic supplies!
Loving all the lush goodies.

OK indulge this Pink one with a few more
"vacation" pictures...
You know you are the MOM of BOYS when people
come up to you and say "Are those your boys?"
And you think...OMG what in the heck are they doing now!
Well this happens to me frequently with my oldest
I have had more mothers approach me saying that
then with any other boy so far.
We were on a small train (long ride but small train)
ride and a woman comes up to me not 5 minutes after I take
this shot from the from the back of the train and
she says..."You have those 3 boys? is that older
one yours?" I hung my head and said "yes"
She said..."I am watching him hang himself off the train and grab
things from the trees and rocks, he almost fell out too"
Lorday...*HMPH* I got nothing else to say about it
except that boy jumped 10 feet when I walked up to him
and he TRIED to tell me he had no idea it was wrong
but if your not doing anything wrong, you don't jump
10 feet and hit your head when momma walks in!
Here we are on the bus to the train
(hot as heck too!)
He insisted he get a picture with momma too!
The boys took their own...they are growing up fast!

Alrighty then, I was going to take pictures of a prize today
but it is thundering and lightning, so I am going to wait until
tomorrow. Don't forget the Dirty Scraps challenge will
be up tomorrow too!
NEW SPONSOR and a prize there!

Thanks for coming by to say hey!
~Have a great day~

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Hey, hey it's Tuesday and she is back to scrapping!~

Good morning my friends,
I took yesterday off because my boys are officially
*SICK*, so I spent the day at the Dr.'s office and it
was our last days with hubby's parents.
They left at 7:30am this morning....what am I thinking??
NAP TIME!! LOL

I wanted to share a few pictures of the Aquarium we visited,
the in laws were generous and gave us a MEMBERSHIP
so we can take the boys all year long! It was so fun.
They just loved it and we will be going all year!
I will be sitting down and reading my manual though,
to find the best settings for aquarium shots.
I knew that manual would come in handy some time!
Next time I will be prepared, we plan on going
again in a few weeks, it is only like 1hr 45 min away.
A rare shot of hubby smiling too! :) My men!

Now for scrappy fun!
Remember that Helmar partnered up with Scrap-tastic this month?
This is another layout I made, it's from my little man's 8th
birthday, I snapped this shot while they were blowing up balloons.
I made the "candles" from rolled paper and twine.
I also used that pretty Mist on the background to blend it all.
I love the mist because it really helps to blend the colors.
The Helmar 450 works great for rolling paper!
Have I blabbed on enough today? I think so LOL
I am off to clean, do laundry, take a nap
and have some me and my boy time!

I loved the company and we had a great time, but I
am ready for our normal days again :)

I will be back tomorrow....I have some prizes and fun coming,
just need to get myself organized and ready!

~Thank YOU for popping by~
~Have a great Tuesday~

~Back from vacation!!!!~

Good morning!!!!!!!
I am SO HAPPY to be home....
what a HUGE surprise it was to go into the GA
mountains, with a promise of fishing, home style cabin and
high speed internet, only to discover that meant...
CRAZAY mountain folk *Wish I had the picture*
(drunk and very PINK curious)

Tiniest fish I ever saw but the BIGGEST snake I ever saw and *big shocker here* high speed internet that
never really worked and I had to hike 1/4 mile onto
the TOP of the mountain to get any cell reception.
Which is all fine and dandy EXCEPT we had
planned on using the laptop for directions etc...LOL
Fun and totally hilarious.

I will get to the stories all week but first the drunk hillbilly.
*DISCLAIMER* Now mind ya, I love the south and I
do not think everyone in GA is a drunk hillbilly, no no...I just found
the classic example is all LOL

On the road we stayed on it was a dead end, so I decided
I would *ALONE* drive to the end to explore, I thought maybe there
was a fishing hole down there.

Well, them GA folk don't care for people driving on "their" road.
I waved as usual and a drunk man jumped out in front of the van
sort of growling....but all hunkered down and scowling at me.
I smiled and waved and went around.

When it got dark, I heard a loud knocking on the cabin
door, my MIL answered and it was Mr. Growly Pants,
he was staggerin' drunk, I mean slurring, staggering drunk.
He said "Ma'am I am the KEEPER OF THIS ROAD...*yes he said he
was the keeper of the dang road LOL*
and he came to let us know about
a swimming hole down stream and see if y'all were some Mexicans, cause
we had some"Mexicans" here last week and we had
an "incident".
I nudged my FIL and told him to go help mom,
he said " She can handle it she is a librarian!"
UMM?? Hello?? LOL
So he went over and he stood there and they shooshed
him off. MIL proceeded to barricade doors and lock stuff
then. We watched him about fall down 4 times, and set
his beer on the ground so he would not drop it as
he half fell, then he picked it back up and walked on home.

EVERY DAY we found them in our yard drinking and
fishing and throwing bottles down in the fire.
Not very family friendly *EEK*
We took it all in stride :)

Anyways I better go cook for the famz~

*Giveaway Alert*
A friend of mine in Kentucky
http://t42originals.blogspot.com/

Now for a Helmar Project!
Helmar partnered up with Scrap-tastic this month
And this is one LO I created using their products and Helmar's Glue!
LOVE the glittered alpha and Helmar ZapDots

I have more stuff to share, and my in laws leave
in 2 days so I will be back full force then!
I think it's time to try to hit 600 followers
which means GIVEAWAYS!!!!!!!!
*Stay tuned* More stories and pictures to follow!

~Thanks for popping by~
~Have a great Sunday~
~I am so happy to be home~
~Pinky~

~Final day of my ANGER reveals~

Good morning my friends!
I am headed home this morning and so excited to be
able to come home and sleep in my own bed and see
my chickens! LOL

Here is my last reveal for SFTIO and the June kit
I had such deep and meaningful inner exploration this month.
I am so happy I did it too.
These will go into my private journal and it was an amazing journey.

This page is FEAR
As much abuse as I had as a child, I was always
optimistic and thought I would find Mr. Right who would
see in me what no one else saw.
Instead I found a man who knew nothing of love
who only knew of pain himself, which included beating
me and abusing me at one point leaving me for dead.
He was a valuable lesson for me.
I learned to be STRONG and to trust more carefully.
I learned that when someone else is so broken,
they cannot love and help you.
I learned that you have to break the chain of abuse and there
is NO EXCUSE for abusing someone. No matter how broken
you are there is no excuse for abusing someone else.
But not everyone is strong enough to stop abuse.
I am so blessed that I won't be abused again and I will
NEVER repeat the cycle of my parents, my ex husband, and my family.

I hope I did not scare you off of my blog.
I love SFTIO and what they stand for.
They only have a negative emotion once every 6 months, so
it is a great way to release. I feel like I did just that!

~Have a beautiful day~
~See ya'll tomorrow~
~Pinky~
