~Scrapbooking From The Inside Out BLOG HOP!!!!~

Good morning blog hoppers!!!!!
I am excited about this blog hop because you could
win a brand new "Enlightenment" SFTIO KIT!

This kit is simply amazing.
The next stop goes hand in hand with emotional scrapbooking

If you leave a comment on every blog, you
will be qualified to win a new Enlightenment kit.

Here is one of the layouts I did with the "Enlightenment" kit
The reason I shared this one is because there is no journaling.

I will explain why.
This is a photo I took in Hawaii, many of you might know
how Hawaii changed my life.
My husband was just diagnosed with MS, I was at a cross
roads in my life. I had just confronted the people who
abused me my entire childhood.
I was feeling pretty worn down and broken.
I felt ugly, fat, and pretty much like a used up piece of garbage.
A friend approached me about a girls week in Hawaii.
In the end we decided to go but only if hubby came too because
we were so uncertain of the future at this point.

Going to Hawaii I found something inside me I did not know existed.
The people in Hawaii, they have this amazing spirit, they do not see
ugly...fat...tired...people. They see you as beautiful, in fact they
see everyone with love. It was so uplifting and amazing.
It changed the way I saw myself, and how I saw others.
After a lifetime of nothing but pain and abuse, I realized
there was so much more to life than anger and hurt.
People really do care, people are kind...I just had to leave my circle
of abuse to find it. In the end it also gave me to courage to
move far away from that life into TN.
It gave me to courage to see that even though
I am fat, I am amazing and BEAUTIFUL!
Because being broken and abused does not make you ugly
it shows others your amazing character.
Even thin people can be ugly because of their poor character and the way
they treat others. Weight makes no difference.

This is the story behind my "Enlightenment" layout.
I don't really believe in Enlightenment, but if I did that would
be as close as it gets :)

Now head over to the Dirty Scraps Blog!!!
Don't forget tomorrow I will draw a ribbon glue winner!

OK enough chatterbox for me!
~ Thank you for bearing with my blabbering today!~
~Have an amazing daY~
~Have fun with the blog hop!~

  5. Pinky I love this layout, it means so much to you it doesn't need journalling.
I totally understand the turmoil you must of been in when your husband was diagnosed with MS as my I too have MS and spent many weeks after my diagnosis in 2005 with my family wondering 'how will we cope' 'how long will I live' 'will it cripple me straight away' all those normal thoughts and worries. I have a wonderful husband and four wonderful children and felt I had to have the answers for them if not myself but now I take each day as it comes and enjoy what I can.

  37. I have never been to Hawaii but i grew up in a home with a single mother who to this day is still a drunk and very hurtful. at the beginning of this year i came to the decision it was time to say goodbye, when her hurtful ways spilled over to my son who was 8 at the time.and now i have no parents or grandparents. I am fighting back the tears while writing this as i did while reading your blog. I have never actually made a scrapbook but after liking the dirty scraps i think my first real book will be My story. I somehow need to heal myself now that i am 39 and been hurt for so many years. the pain and hurt that is with me needs to be freed. Love the photo and thanks for sharing.

  38. Wonderful layout, and it brings tears to my eyes. Sometimes it takes people a life time to accept their lives and move forward. I agree with you that it doesn't matter your size or how you look that shows your true spirit. I know many skinny / small nasty and rude people.
I think you are a beautiful woman that has shared so much with others, you are an inspiration girl...don't forget it.

  39. Pinky, I always told my children that if you love the inside of the person, the outside should never matter. I also had a hard time loving the inside but once I did I could look at the ones that hurt me so differently. You have such a sweet spirit and that is what truly matters. Love your Enlightenment layout.

  52. Definition of ENLIGHTENED
1: freed from ignorance and misinformation
2: based on full comprehension of the problems involved

Perhaps you don't want to put a label to it, but it seems to me that your esperience was very freeing, and very elightened.

  56. Pinky,

I remember seeing this LO before. I didn't know the story behind why one trip would change your life. Beauty truly does come from inside and not the out. Some of the most beautiful people I know are beautiful because of who they are not what they look like!

  59. Wow Pinky, beautiful layout. I too, can have a similar story. It took many years to come to terms with the abuse I endured too. But when I did, I was able to toss it all in the trash where it belongs. Then come out of the darkness and be me!
I've also spent my whole life being overweight. But my sweet boyfriend tells me I'm the most beautiful woman he's ever known. Now I look in the mirror every day, so I know he's a little prejudiced. But it's not only about the outside. It's about the inside too.
So we are lovely, and all of our shy, abused, chunky sisters too!
