Not Xyron But Should Be! Map A Lamp!

Hey there!
This week I was inspired by the Xyron board on Pinterest
Not Xyron But Should be- so I thought I would TACKLE this
Map Lampshade project....

After a few fails (on my part) I finally got it! LOL
First of all I could not find a vintage map anywhere and trust me I looked!
So I decided to distress my own map using Spritz in brown and a light
dusting of gold spray paint because I wanted it shimmery too.
After it dried I crinkled it a bit because I wanted an artsy textured feel.
Then I cut it into 9" strips.
I ran the strips through my Xyron 9" Creative Station
(which by the way EVERY home needs one!)
I then peeled the clear plastic adhesive film off and tore the
map into strips and applied. I did it in strips because #1 I could not find a straight
lampshade. #2 I wanted more texture on the shade.
I actually love the textured result- very artsy! :)
What do you think??
It literally took me an hour when I got it all figured out.
Happy Friday friends~

RECYCLE Spring Storage Idea With Xyron

Hey there friends and NON CRAFTERS today!
I am veering off my usual card and scrapbook posts
 today with a VERY EASY
storage idea for everyone doing that Spring cleaning!
And it literally took like 5 minutes out of my life.
Which is perfect for me, because I barely have 2 seconds some days.

I am a huge fan of recycling, as I was a Oregon native- so this
project is right up my alley. I saw people use TP rolls before
for cord storage but they were so ugly, and being crafty and pink..
umm NO can't let that happen. So I dug out scraps of Teresa Collins
paper and trimmed it to 4" (measure your rolls because each vary between 4 and 4 1/2")
I trimmed the paper to 7" long because I wanted to get a really good
adhesion- so it wouldn't roll back off- paper to paper.

Run paper through Xyron 5" Creative Station.
Make sure to use the permanent cartridge.
 Rub. Peel. Stick.
Roll toilet paper onto sticky side.
 That's it!
If you are feeling like you want some glam you can totally add
a ribbon or bow too. Plus the bows make it easy to hang on a hook.
Here it is with a perry bow on it :)
And by the way, darned if I could find white extension cords, I
looked in every box and even tried the store! So green it is LOL

Ok off to my son's Autism appointment today-
so much anxiety on these days! Have a great one friends
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to PIN THIS! :)

I am so excited today because I have the privilege of playing with
some Anna Griffin goodness before it airs on HSN or is available to the public! :)
And Xyron made it possible with this fabby blog hop.

On March 24th Anna will be on HSN debuting this fabulous product line!
Als you will be spying some FABULOUS XYRON too!

For these cards I used the 9" Xyron Creative Station, Xyron Mega Runner,

And I also used the Xyron Laminating Cartridge for these fun bookmarks
my son begged me to make- I love the Anna Griffin masculine goodness for them.
He will probably hate the ribbon, but I mean...he will deal. LOL

I LOVE Me A Sassy Chick!

Hello friends and hello Monday-
I have been slacking lately, the kids have been in sports full time.

BUT I still make time for my favorite Avocado Arts postings! :)
Check out two cards I created last week using the new Sassy Chick
stamp set for March, and it's a FUN time.

ANYTHING Sassy makes me happy in my heart.
How fun are these boots too?
Trust me I lost them 62 times before I finally got my cards done.
My disorganization is going to win soon LOL
But I kept hunting them and set them in a bowl finally. Because
I am in love with them so much!

And on this card I placed a strip of acrylic because I wanted
it to be special. Can you see I stamped stems behind it too?

The paper is Prima- and I had so much fun making them.
Check out the full post at AA-
Let them know I sent ya! :)

FREE SVG And Giveaway SW Blog Hop!

Good morning friends, are you ready to win today??
It's that time of month- the Samantha Walker Creative Team Blog Hop
and the month's theme is LUCKY!

My project is a card and a hair bow gift holder! :)
Which by the way, I found a cool way to display them too.
Let me share how I made it.
I cut the SW "I'm The Lucky One" file using my CutCardStock card stock.
Then I ran it through my 9" Creative Station and placed it on my card face.
Cut next file out: Clover Bag Topper on the base piece
run through Xyron face side down- this creates a sticky side for the
gold glitter!
Add your super awesome GLITTER!
Then take a folded piece of white card stock and adhere it to the back
to create a little mini stand.
Now on the front you can add your embellishments and add these
little Xyron Adhesive dots to hold the hair clips into place! Perfect too!
I added some cool buttons the both cards and some twine too.

Here is the blog hop info and the prizes:

The blog hop will begin is now and you have to comment by Sunday, 03/16 at 11:59pm MDT in order to be eligible for the free SVG/Silhouette file as well as the prize...which will be the Spellbinders® Botanical Swirls Expandable Pattern
This is the FREE SVG giveaway from Samantha:

And the next stop on the blog hop is
Happy Hopping Friends!!! :)
