~Hello Cricut Crazy Monday + New Video for the i-rock!~

I was just going to post a video today.
I made a video yesterday of little tips for the i-rock
that I have picked up along the way.

But then last night my boys came into my craft
room and they discovered mommy's toy...LOL
the CRICUT! hahaha
It was so funny!!!!
So I thought first today I would share what they asked me
to make them and what happened.

This is the Hello Kitty card I made yesterday.
I did not share the information yesterday because
I was throwing a SURPRISE Hello kitty party for a gf.
It was great and the Hello Kitty cartridge was awesome for it!
Ok on to the boys...
So Justice comes in and he says "Momma when are you going
to make me something to go into my binder to make it special?"
I said "Right now, what do you want?"
"I want you to use your Cricut and make this Robot mom!"
hehehe, this is what he chose.
I know it is a basic Cricut cut but he was TICKLED!
I made it 8.5" so it covered the whole binder area.
They are only allowed white binders so this is so cool for him.
Not to be outdone my other son came in and said
"MOM what about me???" I said "Whatcha want hunny?"
"A BIG Beautiful BUTTERFLY Mom"
And that is what I made him LOL
I used my Core'dinations cardstock, my Helmar 450 quick dry,
and my Cricut Expression machine. The Give a Hoot cartridge
and the Robotz Cartridge for the Robot.
We had so much fun. What a great way to get the kids involved
in being creative, they were in awe of the machine!

Ok on to the video.
It's been a while since I made one and
I have 4 ready to go, I just need to finish them!
This one is for anyone who wants small quick tips for the
using the i-rock and the gems.

OKy doky that is it for me today!
I am off to craft, I have a special guest design spot
coming up!
~Happy Monday y'all~
~Thank you for stopping by, I do appreciate ya!~

~Creative Sunday is here....what are you doing?~

Morning! I am behind on blogging because I spent
all day yesterday sewing and spending time with
the family. It was a nice day I even made an
old fashioned fried potato, ham, eggs, & toast dinner!

Ok a few things now...
First of all I received my UNIBIND!!!!! WOOT!
I am excited to get started. I have a project half finished.

Secondly I dug out this Ruby Rock It paper
and I used my Helmar Craft Glue to Glitter the cut
side to make it pop.
Now I am going to make my layout (hopefully today after baseball)
I also spent yesterday playing with my Cricut Expression
and my Hello Kitty Cartridge!
Isn't she cute?? I of course glittered her up. :)
It's not Hello Kitty without some glitter.
I don't know if you can see but I used white SHIMMER paper on her face.
Here is a top I made in 1X for a customer.
I love this turquoise fabric.
And yet another dress I made yesterday for an order.
It's a beautiful fall orange.
It's been a great week full of crafting and sewing.
Today is going to be a great day of baseball WOOHOO!
Let's hope we win LOL

What are you doing this weekend?
Is this a lazy Sunday or a busy one for ya? :)

~Have a great day y'all!~
~Thanks for popping by to say hello, I do love reading
all the comments and catching up every night.~

The NEW Dirty Scraps Challenge is up!!!
Go check it out!!
_______________________________________________________________
Good morning friends!
I have some fun for y'all today....a BLOG HOP!
I meant to blog about it earlier but I forgot with
all the chicken egg excitement! hahaha

Unity Stamps (which I love) and Clear Scraps
are pairing up for a BLOG HOP!

They asked us to make a project using not only

I was going to make a card, but then I thought
"You are in an ATC swap Pinky, why not try that?!"

So I snagged the Unity Stamps You + Me = Happy
and a Clear Scraps Acrylic ATC card (Hello making it easy on me!)
Also some Ruby Rock It paper and alphas and I made this.
It's simple but it's fun and I think it will be perfect for my
ATC love themed swap!
I did emboss the heart stamp and it was so easy.
I love how clear the stamps are.

Anywho....on to the next blog right?
It is RITA!!

Start at the Clear Scraps blog and follow the list of designers blogs. Comment on everyone's blog and then come back to the Clear Scraps blog and let us know that you did. Everyone who completes this blog hop will be entered for a really nice prize package from Clear Scraps.

Have fun on the blog hop! I hope you win!!!

~Happy THURSDAY! Ohhh I am excited now!~

OK crafty friends, set aside your crafts for a moment
I have some news...well it's HUGE in the Hobbs house anyways!

We have EGGS! not one but TWO EGGS! WOOHOO!
they are so darn cute too! :)Photobucket

We have been waiting for this day for so long,
if you are a new friend you probably don't know
that a couple months ago we had hand raised 14 chickens.
When the huge flood hit our area
someone came in the night and stole all 14
chickens, it was heartbreaking.

So this is quite a triumph for our home :)
Anyways, no crafting for me today, I am off to buy some
filling for the new nesting boxes, and some
laying chicken feed! WOOHOO!

Happy Thursday y'all.
Oh and my son is still sick, I am taking him to the Dr.
today and they are going to put him on medicine for his
poor ears and throat Poor little man.

~Thanks for sharing in our excitement!~
~Have a beautiful day~

~Hump Day Ruby Rock-it Winner & New Ruby Rock-it Layout/Giveaway!~

Good morning! Happy Hump Day.
I am home with a sick boy today, I was supposed to be
at school volunteering but the kids come first.

Anyways, I have a Layout to share with you today!
Another Ruby Rock-it Layout no less.
This time I used their SUMMERHOUSE collection.
I used the old Fiskars Crimper to crimp the paper
then make a fan. I felt very tropical and Moroccan
last night while making this layout.
Practically everything here is Ruby Rock-it even the HAPPY alpha.
I made this layout for a challenge at Tally Scrappers
I am just waiting for them to post it. You had to use
PAINT *check* Distressing *Check* and the word HAPPY in the
title *Big Fat CHECK* hehehehe
Lovin' me some cork flowers.

Oh and for those of you who have asked.
You can buy Ruby Rock-it online at http://www.scrapbook.com/

OK on to the winner of the first set of Ruby Rock-it

~Stamp Happy Tuesday~

Good morning to all my crafty friends in crafty-land.
Hope your Tuesday is going well!

I spent yesterday crafting a little
but not my typical crafting.
Ever since I met Katie Cotton and she gave me some of her
amazing Paper Makeup stamps, I have been dying to delve
into stamping. I am not your every day stampin' gal.

I decided yesterday to try some mediums in my stamping
and see how I liked it.
I don't know if it looks weird or good? LOL
But in person it's quite pretty.
First I stamped the image, then I took and embossing
ink pen and embossed her hair with an ocean blue
heat embossing powder. Then I added VIVA Decor copper
to her barrettes, then I Smooch Spritz the whole thing
in gold and blue, then I colored it in with Copics.
After that I took my sewing machine and stitched along
the strands of her hair, and coated it with a crackle medium.
Then I coated it with an antique glaze and mounted it on this card.

Now...what am I going to do with it?? LOL
Is it card worthy? I am not sure.
Any ideas for me?? It was alot of work/fun. I hate to see it
sit in my drawer. I was thinking maybe a card? Not sure.

Don't forget to enter the Ruby Rock-it GIVEAWAY!

Ok I am off to get these boys ready for school.
I woke up early and packed lunches but man I have a migraine.
Time to get a hot breakfast made and wake em up with kisses!

~Have a great day y'all~

~Summer Scrappin' Monday~

Good morning my crafty friends :)

This weekend was pretty busy but I did
manage to sit down yesterday and scrap one page.
Thoughts 2 Paper is having a sketch contest and
I REALLY wanted to enter the contest!!
Thoughts 2 Paper is good people.

This is mostly My Mind's Eye Paper,
I have had it sitting here for a long time.
The butterflies are the Martha Stewart Monarch Punch.
First I cut out the That's my Boy paper and I stitched
another sheet of Quite Contrary paper underneath it.
Because I wanted to use the gingham. :)
Then I hand cut some leftover denim and used the same
contrast stitching to sew it on.
For the masking I used the Cricut French Manor cartridge
I cut the 8" Medallion and spritz golden Smooch Spritz on it.
Then in true Pinky form I stickled the heck out of it LOL
It was fun to sit down and scrap for me :)

Anyways, I have 2 sick boys today.
I am telling you the beginning of the school year is crazy
for our house. The boys get sick at least 4 times in the first
2 months. I will be glad when October hits!

Oh and I had to giggle yesterday when someone asked
me to SIGN her RAK from my blog!
How fun is that?! LOL Now how should I sign it?
What do you think?

I don't know...guess I will think about it today.

~Hello Sunday & i-rock Bag WINNER~

Happy Sunday my crafty friends.

I had such a great time in Kentucky yesterday!
You know the people at scrapbook Village are amazing.
Not only the owner Bonnie and her right hand woman Janett
but the customers are all so amazing and sweet.

The class went really well, we had a BALL!
I gave away one of these i-rock bags AND
an i-top in the class.

I will be returning for the weekend retreat in November
doing another i-rock class and hopefully yet another class!

I took a minute to snap a picture of the i-rock bag today,
here is the front of it...
and here is the back. It holds so much too!

It stormed like crazy yesterday, but after the storm while
the sun was setting we had some amazing skies.
It was like pockets of sun through heavy black clouds.

I went out and snapped these shots before the storms began again.

OK on to the WINNER of the i-rock bag!
WOOHOO Love this bag!!!!!!

~Crafty Thursday...Halloween is coming, why not make an album?!~

Good morning my crafty friends!

Can you believe how close Halloween is?
I usually make all of our costumes and if I want
to again this year I better get to stitching!
We don't even have a family theme yet?! *gasp*

On Facebook Nikki Sivils had a contest and I
decided to play along, to my surprise I won!
When I got the paper I decided it would make the PERFECT
scrapbook album COVER.I am going to glue this onto a BLACK Halloween
scrapbook album, then coat it with a crackle medium
and seal it down to the album.
I thought it would be a fun album cover and I would
have a special album for all of our themed costumes!
I have totally been into Glossy Accents lately and I went
crazy once again! I used it on the hearts *every other one*
on the mask, on the frame of the "FUN" die cut,
and on the H in Halloween. Oh and of course my handy
dandy i-rock tool to add the black and white gems!! WOOT!
I also have been digging my Cricut lately.
I used the French Manor Cartridge to make the
label die cut and the alpha is with the Cricut too!
I know i am not your traditional Cricut girl
but I have been trying to create outside the Cricut Box
in keeping with my funky, crazy style.

I have more projects to share this week *yea*
Still waiting on the video to be posted online.
Today I am home making scalloped potatoes and ham.
I sure get int he cookin' mood when the rain hits :)

I baked home made bread yesterday and banana bread too.
It's good to be in the rain.

~Happy Thursday y'all!~

~Hump Day Tutorial! How to blur the background of your photos~

Morning everyone!
Sorry I missed yesterday;s blogging.
I had some emails of concern, but honestly
I was just so busy with that TV spot.

I am working on 5 projects right now but
I cannot share any of them except one and it's not finished
so I thought I would share a quick tutorial
that several of you have asked about.

How to BLUR the background of you photo
and make one focal point.
This is the orginial photo
I just took it for an example.
Step 1. Select entire image and COPY
Then click NEW LAYER and PASTE
it should look exactly like the original photo
Step 2. Select FILTER and use drop down menu
select BLUR then GAUSSIAN BLUR *that is the one I use but
you could use any one you choose* Step 3. Adjust blur. Now your photo should look like this.
Step 4. Select ERASER and size brush you are comfortable with.
Now ERASE area you do not want blurred.
On smaller photos or spots, I ENLARGE the photo by pressing
CTRL and + to zoom in.
And this is the final photo.
Probably not the best photo to illustrate this LOL
But you get the idea. This is how I do it anyways :)
You can play with the eraser and everything else to make
it all yours!

Now I will be back tomorrow.
I do believe my friend MARCI gave me a GIVEAWAY
and it's a big one too! :)
When the TV spot gets online I will link y'all up!
It's coming I am told LOL
If not I will get a copy and youtube it!

~Have a great Wednesday~
